Probes and Flow Cells: SAM-Spec

INDATECH offers a range of probes and flow cells designed for the analysis of complex liquids, suitable for spectroscopic techniques ranging from UV-Vis to near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy.

Advanced Spectroscopic Spatial Measurement (SAM-SPEC) is an innovative technology capable of providing real-time physical and chemical information about the liquid being analyzed. This advanced technology, when combined with our UV-Vis (Asuryan) or NIR (Hy-Ternity) spectrometer, helps improve various processes such as cell culture, emulsion synthesis, crystallization, polymerization, filtration, and purification.

Innovative Technology

This technology uses light scattering and absorption based on multiple measurements taken at different locations to obtain various types of information. Unlike standard approaches, such as those used in particle size analyzers or turbidimeters, multiple wavelengths are used to illuminate the medium. Scattering occurs at different wavelengths. It varies depending on the diameter, shape, and absorption of the particles, as well as on the ratio of the particle size to the emission wavelength. For this reason, the spatio-spectral data contain a wealth of physical and chemical information.

Our product line includes:

  • The SFX multi-angle probe: the ideal solution for online monitoring of your process in a reactor, the SFX probe offers up to three simultaneous detection angles—collimated transmission, scattered transmission, and backscatter—enabling comprehensive physicochemical characterization of your liquids (suspensions, emulsions, crystallization, etc.)
  • The SPC multi-angle probe: This probe excels by offering up to 13 simultaneous measurement points in diffuse reflectance, making it ideal for applications where the liquids being inspected are dense, such as lipids in milk, creams, oils, and other viscous or opaque substances.
  • The Multi-Path Flow Cell (FC-MPL): Our MPL flow cell enables simultaneous measurements across up to 3 channels. Precise control of product concentration is achieved using adjustable optical paths. Suited to diverse industrial needs with a variety of connections, all in a robust and hygienic design that meets GMP standards.
The Multi-Angle Cuvette Holder: An ideal tool for at-line product inspection, the cuvette holder offers a compact and flexible solution adaptable to vials, cuvettes (optical path from 0.2 to 10 mm), and syringes. It enables multi-angle measurements at 180° (transmission) for chemical analysis, as well as at 160°, 90°, and 30° (diffusion) for physical characterization.
